TITLE 1

Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and public schools with high numbers or high percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Title I, Part A is a formula grants program for "improving the academic achievement of the disadvantaged."

 

Title I, Part A is administered by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education. OSPI is the state educational agency through which the financial assistance is distributed to Ohio local education agencies (LEAs) and public schools. (Title I, Part A also includes resources for private schools.)
