Board Members are elected at large for four year terms. A member may serve unlimited consecutive terms. Board members are elected according to a schedule that staggers their term expiration dates. Officers serve a term of one year, and may be relected.



Mr. Mahr graduated from Meigs High School in 1986.  He earned an Associate’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology from Rio Grande Community College in 1989. He then attended Ohio University where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1993. Mr. Mahr has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and engineering positions with local companies. Mr. Mahr is currently employed with Toyota Motor Manufacturing West Virginia, in Buffalo, West Virginia.

Mr. Mahr resides in Rutland with his wife, Carol. They have five children currently enrolled in the school district: Steven, Brandon, Dillon, Austin, and Andrea. He is seeking to make a difference by helping improving our school system and is honored to be elected to the Board.

In his spare time, he and his wife volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and The Rutland Youth Baseball League. They are members of the Middleport Church of Christ.



He is a 1971 graduate of Meigs High School and has been employed with American electric power company for the past 39 years. He and his wife of 42 years, Susie, are lifelong residents of Meigs county. They have 3 children, Travis, Grant, and Carrie.  All three of their children are graduates of Meigs High School and Ohio University, and all are educators. 

Over the years, Roger has donated many hours to the Pomeroy youth league, as well as Meigs Local academics and athletics.  He has operated the scoreboard at Meigs home football games since 1974. Roger is a member of the Rocksprings United Methodist Church.  In his spare time he likes spending time with his family.




Mr. Snowden is a 1980 graduate from Meigs High School where he participated in football, basketball, and baseball.   He has attended both Hocking Technical College and Columbus State University.   During his professional career Mr. Snowden has worked both union and non-union construction, boilermaker, and laborer positions.  He was enlisted in the 3664 maintenance company of the national guard from 1984-1988. Todd has 28 years of experience at the Rutland Volunteer Fire Department, nine years with the squad and is still actively serving on both.

Mr. Snowden has three children, one grandson who is currently attending Meigs Local School District, and two more that will enter the district shortly.  In his spare time Todd coaches baseball, softball, and basketball, as well as officiating both youth sports, and at the high school varsity and junior varsity levels.  He is an avid hunter/fisherman and attends the Rutland Church of Christ.



Mrs. Heather Hawley is a 1994 graduate of Meigs High School. She has degrees from  Hocking College, Ohio University, and Mountain State University. She is currently working as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at O’Bleness Health Systems.  Mrs. Hawley has 3 children whom attend Meigs Local School District.




Hello! From Larry Tucker

I am a graduate of Meigs High School Class of 1980.  Thirty-one years ago I married Wendy “Gibbs” Tucker who has worked at Walmart in Mason since its opening sixteen years ago.  We have two wonderful sons:  David, Class of 2005, who works at Summitt Industry & Trucking; and Morgan, Class of 2014, who is a sophomore attending Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio majoring in Business and Football – “Go A.U. Eagles!”

I am a lifelong resident of Meigs County where I attended K – 6th grade at Rutland Elementary, 7th & 8th grade at Meigs Jr. High, and 9th – 12th grade at Meigs High School.

I currently work for the Meigs County Courthouse, Common Pleas Court, Probation Department as a Probation Officer and Middleport Jail as a Correction’s Officer.  I also serve on the executive committee for the Ohio School Board Association.

I enjoy Ashland Eagle football and all Meigs Local events.

Meigs County is my favorite place in the world, and I am so PROUD to serve “The” Meigs Local School District.

Mr. Tucker has been on the Meigs Local Board of Education for 7 full years and is entering the 8th. He has served as president for 2 years and Vice President for 1 year. He is also currently service on the OSBA executive committee.
